Radio KOOL 105.5 fm (Classic Hits!)

KWCO-FM (105.5 FM, "KOOL 105.5 fm") is a radio station broadcasting a classic hits music format. Licensed to Chickasha, Oklahoma, USA, the station is currently owned by Mollman Communications, Inc. Most of KWCO-FM's programming is live and local M-F 6AM-6PM, and during local sports broadcast coverage. KWCO offers a local swap-shop program Mon-Fri at 9AM, plus on Saturday. The call letters KWCO can be traced back to the original AM 1560 KWCO radio from the 40s. In the 20s KOCW was owned by the Oklahoma College for Women (the AM station on 1190 back then). In the 40s KWCO was picked as a call sign because the KOCW calls were given up for a bit and they wanted to come as close as they could to those original calls so they inverted it forming KWCO. KWCO-FM broadcasts from a former gas station from the 20s in downtown Chickasha at 7th and Chickasha as Chickasha's only commercially licensed radio station. Some of the former calls for KWCO-FM were KTUZ and also KXXK. The original calls for 105.5 was KNDR, established by Ben DeKinder in 1966.
