Radio KVEG-FM

KVEG (HOT 97.5) is a Rhythmic Contemporary Hit Radio station serving the Las Vegas area. The Kemp Broadcasting outlet operates at 97.5 MHz with an ERP of 100 kW and is licensed to Mesquite, Nevada.

KVEG originally signed on the air in 2001 as a Mainstream Urban outlet targeting the African-american audience. But by 2002 they would shift to a Rhythmic Contemporary Hits direction by adding Rhythmic Pop and Dance product (The latter they would scale back on) competing with 98.5 KLUC and 107.9 KVGS V-108, which carried the same format at that time. When V-108 switched to a Urban Contemporary Outlet in late 2002, Cross town CHR Top-40 Station 101.9 Kiss FM dropped its format for an all Hip Hop outlet branded Wild 102, Where Hip Hop Lives to create more competition as another Rhythmic Outlet which would only last until late 2004. By 2008 KVEG began to top KLUC after the latter started to shift towards mainstream (it has since shifted back to Rhythmic). By 2009, KVEG began adding artists like Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga to its playlist, thus leading to KVEG becoming more competitive by matching KLUC and KFRH for Top 40 music supremacy in Las Vegas.

KVEG was once the call letters of AM-1400 during the 1980s.
