Previously known as WBNZ, the station aired adult contemporary or hot AC music for many years and continues to do so on 92.3 FM. WBNZ had a strong presence in the Frankfort/Benzie County community, providing local news coverage and high-school sports coverage.

In July 2009, WBNZ moved to 92.3 FM and the 99.3 allotment became Wouf 99.3 The Wolf. The station adopted a mainstream rock format that combines new and classic rock music. Wouf competes with other local stations such as WKLT, WGFN "The Bear," and WJZJ "Real Rock."

Despite the move to 99.3 FM, Wouf retained its city of license as Beulah, while WBNZ retained Frankfort as its city of license on 92.3 FM. [*]
